Standard Walker
Covered if the following three criteria are met:
- Significant impairment to mobility when performing daily living activities
- Patient is able to safely utilize a walker
- Mobility issues can be resolved sufficiently with use of a walker
Common Diagnosis: COPD, CHF, Osteoarthritis, Arthritis of the Knee

Types
Standard w/ Wheels
Covered with same criteria as standard walkers. Provider specifies model with wheels.
Heavy-Duty
Covered if criteria for standard walker is met and patient exceeds 300lbs. Wider frame than standard. Model shown here features dual wheels and two button folding feature.
Attachments
Accessories such as the platform attachment could also be covered by insurance with certain qualifications.
More info
Some walkers with seats included may not meet coverage criteria. Multiple braking system walkers are available for those who meet all criteria of a standard walker and have a condition where one hand is restricted in use.
